I agree with what you have said. I was moved to tears during the victory speech by Obama's call to America for sacrifice and service. I haven't heard those sentiments since Kennedy, and the 'Ask Not' speech formed so much of my world view (I was 10 when he was assassinated, and very impressionable). I see so much in terms of service and is my default view.

We need service and sacrifice to overcome the greed and me first attitudes that, in my mind, have been the cause of many of America's ills.
