*That* wasn't planned

I guess I'm not going to Novice/Challenge tomorrow after all. Wednesday evening, I started feeling all sniffly. I figured it was because the windows were open and the allergies were getting me. I took some benadryl yesterday morning, and when I still felt like I wanted to sleep when it wore off, I realized I was sick.

Today is my last day of work, tomorrow is the Artisans Row, and Monday is my first day at the new job. BAD timing.

My doc couldn't get me in at anytime except for during the mandatory out-brief that I had scheduled for this afternoon. So I went online and started looking for walk-in clinics. I found one at Target. Yes, Target, the new one up at Brandywine. It was FAST. Nobody knows about it yet, so they're totally dead. The guy said that their max in one day was four patients. I saw a perfectly capable nurse practitioner who did a strep test, which came back positive.

Strep. Oh, joy. By this afternoon, I officially won't be contagious anymore, but nobody likes somebody running around the event sniffling. Mostly, it's not the event itself, it's all of the packing and prepping I'd have had to do. I still have to do some, but if I don't have to worry about my stuff, it'll be easier.

My original thought was to go along, because an event with both children and both parents would be easier than home with both kids and just me. But Jeff is going to come home tonight after set up, instead of staying over, and he's offered to take Henry with him.

If I'm feeling fab, and everything is done, I might still consider it, but at this point, there's just a 5% chance. So, all Artisans Row questions go to Jeff while on site. He'll be wearing an orange tunic/gown/g63 (insert favorite word for it here). Our tent will have an AR sign on it.

Oof.

Poor Char! :-(

I had strep back in March - beware of developing and ear infection (the two seem to go hand in hand for me). I'm sure that all will go well and that Jeff will be able to handle things on site. I'll send you a note offline, which you can share with Jeff.

Get better soon.

Oh, crud! Glad you caught it before it got TOO awful & hope you're back to 100% quickly.

Ick! I can stay somewhere else if you'd rather! Or, alternately, I can be your grunt to make it easier for you to go!

Hope you start feeling better soon. To bad about the event, I was looking forward to hanging with you in the A&S tent.

Strep is never fun. So glad you caught it early, though.
You will be missed tomorrow. I'll be sure to look for your guys. Henry was so cute at Sapphire.
Get well quick! (And good luck on the new job Monday!)

Oh, goodness, do take care of yourself. As someone who is very susceptible to strep, I know just how unfun it can be.

I had strep a LOT as a kid, and I learned to knit, crochet, touch type, bake, and write Gregg shorthand while I was too contagious to go to school but not feeling bad enough to stay in bed all day.

These days I always hope a sore throat is strep because with strep I can take antibiotics and feel better quickly, but the only thing I can do about a viral infection is rest and eat a lot of mango sorbet.

Sounds like the drugs are working pretty fast on you. Have fun with the potty-training :)

I didn't give you strep.

Just for the record.

'Coz I had strep several months ago... ;)
