That's so sweet! I'm glad the boys are getting along well with Luana. Sounds as if she's working out well for you (and as if you FINALLY have an adult for an au-pair and not an adolescent).

speaking of au pairs, can you give me some info on your agency? My sister was looking into being an au pair (she's amazing with kids) but some of the stuff she was looking at was fishy to me (a $250 application fee?)

We’re with www.culturalcare.com. I’m not sure if they work with American au pairs or just American families. I’m not sure what the rules in other countries are, but in the US, there are only a handful of au pair agencies, and they’re all approved by the state department. Does she want to be an au pair overseas, or a domestic nanny?

As for the app fee, that’s about what we paid just to be a family. Most US agencies require the au pair to pay a deposit, so they don’t completely flake out. Neither H nor B got their deposits back.
