I figure that I’d done some 100 or so cote fittings throughout the years, between individual fittings and running workshops. Even though during the workshops, other people were doing a lot of the work, I personally went around to every mock up and checked it for fit, tweaking along the way. I count those. That’s a LOT of information.

Although I’ve done all of that work, I don’t have a lot to show for it. After drawing up the mockup, or sometimes even tracing it to paper, I’ve sent the fittee away with all of the fruits of my effort. I should have been keeping a log of the gowns that I’ve fitted, as a sort of knowledge repository. I can think of all sorts of uses for that information, if nothing else, just as a nice to have. Someday, it might come in handy.

And here’s where I ask a big favor of my readers. Can you help fill in the holes of my body of work? If I have done a fitting for you, can you help me re-create a portfolio of mockups?

Here are some possibilities, with varying level of effort, of information that would be helpful to me:

  • Pictures of the flat mock up pieces, with a measuring tape included in the pic for scale, or measurements written clearly on the paper.
  • Your measurements, bra size, etc. (assuming that a dress made from the mock up fits)
  • A copy of the mock up traced onto freezer paper or muslin (PM me, and I’ll send you a mailing address) (This plus measurements and pictures would be the gold standard… I might even send cookies in return…)
  • Pictures of you wearing a dress that you made with the mock up.

You can send it in email to mathilde at mathildegirlgenius dot com, or PM me for a mailing address.

Thank you!
