Before any of the padding was put in the front. The sleeve seams were also not finished on the inside, making it a bit wonky.

To do differently next time – I’ll cut the back gores so that they’re on the bias, or maybe cut them a bit longer. When fitting, I only mocked up one side. Mistake! When he moved, it pulled the whole thing over. It’s a bit tight across the back. It loosened up quite a bit during the event this weekend, but next time I’ll leave a bit more space.

Pinning the lining down to be stitched inside of the sleeve. There are more pics of this process in another post – I’ll try to get around to consolidating this info.

Making the points. It’s just a strip of fabric, wrapped with thread. I put a stitch through the lace every half inch or so. They’re UGLY, but work really well. I got this out of [livejournal.com profile] tashadandelion’s pattern instructions. She says that the originals were this way. I pinned it after rolling tight, to keep it tighter when sewing, without having to hold it. They were also SLOW to make.
