I'm with you on this one. (Though I'd suggest that you can't really force any sort of "social acceptance" no matter how vehement you are).
I didn't know they'd given the whole idea a name. *sigh* The signified emotional investment in the campaign that will only lead to pain and heartache for SOMEbody.
And I absolutely predict with certainty that there will be some "jerkitude" exhibited if it DOES pass. It's asking for a degree of "equality" that isn't necessary. "But I can't make my sweetie consort!" is also true of everybody who can't win Crown!
Leave the rules as they are. While not perfect, the proposed change would create a heck of a lot more trouble and do it without addressing the "inequality" that is the perceived rationale behind it.
