Dreaded "truthtellers"

Has anybody else ever noticed that the phrase “I have an A-type personality” usually is a euphemism for “I’m a jerk”? Likewise “I like to tell it like it is” or “I call a spade a spade” usually means “I’m rude.”
I know a lot of people who have a-type personalities that *don’t* manage to offend everybody that they meet.

Cause, when that's what I'm doing, that's what it's called. Not "honesty". Honesty has room for manners, propriety, courtesy, dignity and compassion. Being a mouthy fucking bitch? That's different. I'm not saying I never do it. Oh, far from. But it's a different animal altogether and those excuses don't wash. Hell, no excuses wash - if you're going to get down and be evil, do it and own it. (And try not to do it when other methods will serve...)
