Has anybody else ever noticed that the phrase “I have an A-type personality” usually is a euphemism for “I’m a jerk”? Likewise “I like to tell it like it is” or “I call a spade a spade” usually means “I’m rude.”

I know a lot of people who have a-type personalities that *don’t* manage to offend everybody that they meet.

Ummmm....

I haven't noticed said phrase being used that way, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised that somebody does :-/

OTOH, I have been known to use "I'm a Type A...", myself--but as an explanation for why I have a hard time relaxing, or delegating, or not worrying--you know, things that are actual Type A characteristics. Guess I'd better be careful about using that turn of phrase now :->

I think you would be an example of what's socially acceptable Type-A behavior. :-D
